Running into this exact same issue. Seems to be happening with the latest version of DisplayLink 1.12.3 Build 81. Please fix it soon!

Almost every time I come out of locked screen I lose one of the monitors where it doesn't know what type it is.
Quick resolution is to unplug the monitor and it will fix itself. 1.12.4 Displaylink version Online displays count: 3 Display ID: 0x87 Flags: ["MAIN"] Mode: 1920x1200@60 Display ID: 0x1 Flags: ["BUILT-IN"] Mode: 3600x2338@1.2e+02 (PHYSICAL), 1800x1169 (VIRTUAL) Display ID: 0x86 Flags: [] Mode: 1920x1200@60 Hardware: Hardware Overview: Model Name: MacBook Pro Model Identifier: Mac15,6 Chip: Apple M3 Pro Software: System Software Overview: System Version: macOS 15.5 (24F74) Kernel Version: Darwin 24.5.0 |

Just an update.
I downgraded the displaylink version to 1.11.0 and it appears to have solved my problem. |

Exactly the same problem here, often Display Link will report No Monitor on one or both of the external monitors. When it does the resolution is way off and unworkable.
I've tried various workarounds, with varying levels of success and reliability throughout the DisplayLink 12 releases and no less reliably in DisplayLink 13 1) Quit and restart DisplayLink 2) unplug dock from Mac and plug in again 3) unplug monitors from power and back in again Unplugging the monitors was most reliable until version 13, now it rarely helps. Setup is: - Mac Pro M3 - DisplayLink Universal Dell dock D6000 - 2x Dell U2414H monitors Just tried going back to version 1.11.0 and it was worse not better. |

Hi jk1978,
Thank you for your report, and I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. Based on debug data provided by end users, I can confirm that a series of Dell U2xxxx monitors are affected when connected via DP port. Our engineering team is currently investigating the issue, and we aim to provide a solution in the next release. Regards, Szymon |

Only been using for 5 minutes and it already turned off my screens and gave me a message of: "This can happen if the hard disk space is low. Please free up some space and re-enable the screens using switches in Home tab." I know it is not a lot, since drive is fairly full. But currently I have 8 GB available. Trying to find out what the minimum is. |

There is no official information how much free space is required for macOS to prevent from such instable behaviour. Based on our tests and experience, we recommend to always keep at least 18-20 GB of free space on your startup disk.
Hope that helps, Szymon |
