Monitor Blinks every time I move mouse to it

I am driving an external monitor at 1680*1050 and it works but blinks and goes dark for a second or more every time I move my mouse to that display. And then when ever I move it while on that display.

MacBook Pro 2.16Ghz Core 2
Snow Leopard 10.6 With the 1.5b3 driver
