OSX 10.9.1 - DisplayLink 2.1 - No LED. But sometimes it works?

That's a bummer. I bought from Amazon UK.

There is no other markings on the adapter itself, it just says "USB 2.0 Display Adapter" and the same on the reverse. No manufacturer as such it seems.
