Default Network Adapters

I have been using the USB 3.0 Docking station with my XPS 15 Dell Tablet and now my surface pro 3. I thought this issue was just with the Dell Tablet but it has followed me to my surface pro 3. My Ethernet Settings when setting the ip address would reset back to DHCP. Now on my Surface pro 3, I would get an error that I needed to configure an adapter when I try to access the TCP/IP properties.

I know that the surface pro was working fine before I added the Docking station and drivers. I am convinced that it is the display/docking station drivers causing the issue. So my questions are: Is this an issue that is being resolved? Is there something special that I need to do?

I have fixed my adapter by removing the display link software and re-installing the adapter, so it isn't pressing... but I am a little weary about installing the docking station again. Although, I would like to use it.

Please advise.
