I'm having the exact same issues as Julia. It's randomly disconnecting. I've tried all three of the USB ports on my laptop (MSI GS60 Ghost Pro) and it's done it on every one. After reading through this thread I followed JamesH instructions to edit the USB Selective Suspend. I will let you know if it resolves the issue or not.
