connecting iMac to TV

Do you see the extra screen in System Preferences -> Displays -> Arrangement?
If not please collect the logs, the log tool is at http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=269
You can attach the logs here or send them through http://www.displaylink.com/support/ask_question.php

If it's listed, in the Display pane you can gather all display settings to the main screen. Please check which resolution is set for the TV and if the TV name is correctly reported.
