2.5 beta 3
Creating this thread for the purpose of discussing the latest DL drivers for Mac (2.5 beta 3).
2012 11" MacBook Air Anker USB 3.0 DisplayLink dock (HP W2072a) Mini-DisplayPort to DVI connector used for other display. So far, so good. |

Resolution issues
When both displays are connected to the dock, the 1080p monitor will not light up when any resolution over 1440x900 is selected.

Thanks for this thread - it would be nice if someone from DL would tell us a new driver was out and if it fixed any of the critical issues we reported

Yes alphadog apologies, we only contacted directly a few people that reported issues.
The beta 3 fixes a number of device and screen recognition issues on El Capitan. We'd definitely recommend everyone to upgrade. Very interested in what you think about it! Best regards, Carlo |

No problem.
I installed it, hooked up the dynadock and all works as expected. Will report any issues. |

Working as expected now
Cannot replicate the issue now. Yesterday it was definitely stuck, today it works pretty phenomenally. Throwing what I can at it to see if there are any other issues. Thanks for the support, folks.

Current status and performance
Things seem far more stable with this beta so far. I can leave the DL dock connected overnight and come back in the morning without fear of having an unresponsive computer.
Wake from sleep also seems to work as expected. Performance is certainly better, but still stutters at times. I'm not sure what the expectation for performance is, but it feels like it is just a little behind what I have come to expect from Windows-based workstations with DisplayLink docks. That being said, I feel far more confident in recommending DisplayLink products with these recent changes. My experience may be different from other people's but I really do appreciate the hard work you have put in to getting this product working more smoothly. Good job guys. |

Testing on 2.5b3 + OS X 10.11.2 beta5 (15C48a)
iTunes (12.3.1.23) still crashes WindowServer and forces a logout if I try to minimize the window. That one is a real doozy, because it always makes me lose work. Is it fixable?? |

We don't think we can fix this but we'll continue to look for workarounds. Apple can certainly fix this defect and they have fixed in El Capitan a similar issue triggered by Mission Control so there is hope. As for all the other bugs in this class of WindowServer crashes we recommend to open a bug at bugreporter.apple.com to increase the priority of the issue. You can refer to our own bug for this problem, ID 23182216 Cheers, Carlo |
