I'm using a D3100 docking station with my Dell XPS 13 laptop running Windows 10. Everything was working fine until one day I plugged the laptop back into the docking station after taking it elsewhere, and the video output stopped working. Keyboard, mouse, ethernet all work fine, just no video.
I tried downloading and installing the latest driver (7.9 M4) from here: http://www.displaylink.com/downloads/windows But when I run on the downloaded file nothing of substance happens. I get a pop up asking if it's okay to run the executable, click yes, then briefly get a window with a progress bar saying "installing displaylink software" that disappears after a second or two with no confirmation that anything happened. I've also tried rebooting a couple of times, power cycling the DisplayLink, and every USB port on my laptop. No success. The video output works just fine if I plug my HDMI cable directly into the laptop. Any advice or suggestions? |

Hello,
I've just put 7.9 M5 online at the same URL as in your post. It would be useful to get the logs. Your behaviour tends to happen when the Microsoft Installer service is already busy so it terminates execution. Kind regards, Alban
