This happens because of where the colour correction is done. From 8.0, we introduced support for DDC/CI mainly for contrast/luminosity.

In order for us to do colour correction and applications like f.lux, we have to do that calculation/correction in the device and this is brand new code to be written. Today, we get the data from the graphics card and don't modify it.
Because the Intel software is not made to recognise indirectly connected displays, it won't show DisplayLink displays.

Could you try an application like ScreenBright (on a DisplayLink driver 8.0+) to see what it offers for your monitor?
It should allow you to do what you do on the monitor directly...
