Default Pointers...

I would highly suggest you install timeshift. This will allow you to rollback changes quickly to get this installed and working.

Also UKUU installed would allow you to update to a more current kernel.

I was unable to make this work at all on 5.8. However, once I got to 5.11 everything started working a bit. There are still some issues I have, but my situation is a bit different. I would start here.
