Unhappy MacBook Air M2 Chip Slow w/ 2 monitors

Hi, I have a MacBook Air with an M2 Chip. I got a Plugable docking station with DisplayLink and installed the DisplayLink Manager application.

The 2 monitor display works, but it makes my computer too slow. In Activity Monitor is shows that WindowServer is using 2.8 GB of memory when 2 monitors are attached, vs. 665 MB when 1 monitor is attached. My computer only has 8 GM of memory so this was taking me to 7.3 out of 8 GB being used, hence the computer being slow.

Is there anything that can be done about this, or is the MacBook Air M2 just not powerful enough to support the 2 monitors?

Do you use the latest version of the OS and this version of the Dispalylink driver?
