Default 1.12 complete mess > was fine on 1.10

just updated from 1.10
M3 MacBook
D6000 with 2x dell 2412M
has been working great except for the occasional issue of dock not waking up when plugging in the usb-c cord after laptop is back at desk .. all resolutions and waking up over and over again while plugged in fine

updated to 1.12 yesterday - did 1 restart after and could see the new UI in displaylink at top menu and all monitors fine

today I connect and all is complete junk - restart no help - I keep getting prompted of what content I want to "share" into my "no name1 and no name2" monitors - when I share the resolution is stupid large like 300x300 .. ..

seems to match issues others are having with complete bad issues after update too ..

oh and in system settings there are no extra displays ! .. but in about MAC I can see 2 displays Nan with resolution of 1x1 pixel

edit: adding info
this is on Mac 15.3.2
tried the cleaner/remover tool and reinstall of 1.12 - no change in issue
now trying update of Mac from 15.3.2 to 15.4 ...

sadly no change - still a hot mess
after updating to 15.4 -
ran cleaner and installed 1.12 - no change
ran cleaner and installed 1.11 - no change
ran cleaner and installed 1.10 - still no change

stuck here now .. the displays are ok but completely blurry and low resolution across them .. far from usable

Default FIXED ? Unplug display cables and plug back in while on ..

dang - found what might be a solution but time will tell

- updated back to 1.12 - still same issue
- unplugged each display link cable from dock and plugged back in - 1 at a time - immediately the displays connected at full resolution and appear fine
- shutdown and restarted and all working

what the heck - noted I had power cycled the dock a few times during this mess - and power cycled the monitors. Seems something of the monitors needed to be re-detected after the update. Strangest part is that 1.12 did work fine on 15.3.2 for me for 1 day - then it broke 2nd day.

Hello junky,

Thank you for sharing your concern.

A simple reboot of the computer or reinstallation of drivers is not always enough, checking the cables and switching them is also sometimes needed.

If you have any further issue, please do not hesitate to let us know.

hi @ mjaroch -
thx for the reply
just woke up Mac this AM and found both screens in same blurred mode
again unplugged and replugged the display link cable and they were fixed

noted last night when I left the Mac it they were both working well, I did the usual of just walking away from Mac (not putting to sleep or shutting down) .. i.e this AM when I "woke" up the Mac to find the screens blurred again they had been allowed to go power down from inactivity ..

I haven't changed power settings in a long time but just checked this AM and found .. little strange settings of my "screen saver" setting but it has been like this for long time without issue .. maybe it gives hint on what is donking up the driver here ?

Default Still Broken - Unplug and Replug Display Cables Fixes Every Time

Still broken here ! emails to support completely unanswered ..

Every morning when MAC is woken from sleep neither monitor is recognized but instead display link shows them as "no monitor" but sends super low resolution blurred feed to them

Unplugging and replugging the display link cables from dock concisely fixes them.

MacBook Pro
Displaylink 1.12
D6000 dock. (this dock is on A04 update from dell for last year, prior to that D6000 would not work at all on MAC and display link)
2x U2412M

This setup has worked fine last year and was fine on Mac OS 15 when on Displaylink 1.10 / updating to 1.12 started this mess.

well, have gotten a few nice notes rather slowly from support, most take days to answer but I did get this yesterday

Hello,
In the near future, we will be releasing a version of the driver which should completely solve this problem. I apologies for the inconvenience.

Another week has gone by with no updates. My details over here in this thread
https://www.displaylink.org/forum/sh...8318#post98318

More issues piling up in the Mac forums here with strangeness after sleep and updates.

recommend this actually be addressed

in the mean time unplugging and replugging your display link cable while Mac is powered up seems to help some and be completed missed in the recommended troubleshooting steps

I still have not heard any update since this note back from support //
