Smile Mac OS Tahoe black screens fixed by DisplayLink 14

I wanted to say thanks to the devs/admins as much as anything.

After upgrading to Tahoe 26.0.1 recently, my two external screens attached to a MacBook Air with M2 chip would randomly click and turn black. I tried swapping cables, switching USB-C ports, and using only one external monitor attached to the 4K adapter. With just one monitor, the frequency of blackouts diminished, but it was still happening, sometimes just seconds apart.

I figured the adapter must be dying after purchasing it in May 2024 (and it working perfectly for 18 months). However, since installing DisplayLink 14.0 a few hours ago, there have been no further drop outs.

When I returned to my Amazon purchase, I noticed the description had changed, and it now says it is no longer recommended for Macs M1 or M2. It DEFINITELY didn't say that when I bought it because I bought it for that express reason. No matter. It looks like I don't need to purchase a new adapter after all because DisplayLink 14.0 seems to have worked like magic.

Much appreciated!
