I've just upgraded my Ubuntu to 25.04 and my DisplayLink completely stopped working. No longer extending my screens. It doesn't recognize any additional displays.
Here is my display link driver version Code:
sudo apt install displaylink-driver displaylink-driver is already the newest version (6.1.1-17). The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required: libabsl20220623t64 libdbus-glib-1-2 libiw30t64 libopenfec libroc libwebrtc-audio-processing1 postgresql-client-16 Use 'sudo apt autoremove' to remove them. I had the same issue right after I took the update to mutter. I've tried reinstalling displaylink to see if it would redetect but so far to no avail.

Anywho...I did purge the install of displaylink...rebooted...then I autoremoved dkms and evdi...rebooted...and reinstalled...and all of a sudden my unsupported driver was working again and my displays came back on. Good luck bwieckow

Ok I took a chance and I made it work as well. Thanks StewPid11.
Here I am going to present detailed step by step operations to achieve the ultimate goal. 1. Remove driver Code:
sudo apt remove displaylink-driver Code:
sudo apt autoremove 4. Set Prompt=normal in /etc/update-manager/release-upgrades. 5. Run Code:
sudo do-release-upgrade 7. Unzip it 8. Give executable perms to the unzipped script Code:
chmod +x displaylink-driver-6.2.0-30.run Code:
sudo ./displaylink-driver-6.2.0-30.run
