Displaylink will not recognize USB adapter
I have an HP USB Graphics Adapter that is having a hard time being recognized by the displaylink software. First of all, I have a Dell Optiplex 760 and the displaylink user interface will only recognize it with version 5.6.31854. I have an Optiplex 790 where I have to uninstall/reinstall/reboot/disconnect the device/change software versions for 2 hours to get the software to recognize it. However, once the device is disconnected or the computer restarted I have to do the same things over and over again. I once even got the optiplex 790 working again by running the Displaylink support tool. I even tried on an optiplex 780 and I am having the same issues as the 790. I have included the log files from the 780 for some assistance.

Hi,
Can you update the graphics driver on your machine? Thanks, James |

Hi,
In addition please run through the troubleshooting guide here: http://www.displaylink.org/forum/showthread.php?t=896 I'd strongly recommend that you upgrade to the latest available DisplayLink software (v7.2M1). Thanks, James |

I've tried all different versions of the software. Updating graphics drivers doesnt do anything. These computers recognize the adapter but can not trigger the displaylink software. The Optiplex 760 and version 5.6 of the software are the only combo that consistently work.

I upgraded to the newest displaylink software/drivers on the Optiplex that was working and now it doesn't work. Windows recognizes the adapter but the displaylink software never fires.

Hi,
To which port on the Optiplex is the adapter connected? If it is a port on the front of the Optiplex can you try a port on the back of it? Thanks, James |
