Hi

Not sure how this got missed on your first post. Sorry.

Can you post the log files as described here:

http://kb.displaylink.com/269

Should give us information about your system and include the dmp files, which should tell us which driver caused the blue screen.

Default Hi

Hi,

ive seen one more error with the newest version, when i play a video with Hardwareoverlay renderer on my Screen Nr2 Which is located on top of the displaylink device, the video flickers, and i see a 800x480 pix picture of the displaylink device in the top right corner, and no video on this place.
Ive tried to start the advanced displaylink logging, but when the service is restarted, my device isnt recognized, same like every new start of the system, i always have to disconnect and reconnect the displaylinkdevice.
Only the oldest available version of the drivers are running "without" problems on my system, only the start problem and sometimes device goes black, until i refresh desktop or move the mouse, but there are no more errors, no bluescreens, no video problems on other screens. 5.6 is it i think. all newer drivers have these problems here.

I hope this helps to improve displaylink.

Best regards,

Tom

I see you are using a basic graphics theme in Vista. Could you try switching to an Aero graphics theme and see if this fixes the issue?

Default Hi

Hi,

when using HardwareOverlay Renderer Windows automatically deactivates Aero.
But Overlay Renderer is the best Renderer for Video. Aero is also using this Renderer, because of this Aeor is deactivated when a different program uses it. The 5.6 Version does not have any problems with this.
I try this weekend if the same problems occur when i have Aero activated, i dont had time yesterday.

best regards,

tom

Default Hi

It happens also when Aero is activated. Only 5.6 Driver Version is running without bluescreens and without video problems on other screens.

Default one more

When using a newer driver than 5.6 i always get bluescreens, also when the usb monitor is not connected, only driver is installed. very strange. Bluescreen appears not directly after installing or activating the device, but sometimes after some minutes, sometimes after some hours.

Can you talk me through exactly how you enable the HardwareOverlay Renderer so I can try and reproduce this and see what changed in v6.0 software?

Thanks
