Not running with Connect A1

Hi,

I bought the Terratec Connect A1 USB2.0 to HDMI device which comes together with DisplayLink. Since I'm using an ASUS Ultrabook (UX31) which has no CD Drive, I cannot use the Installation CD that was included in the package. Therefore, I downloaded and installed the latest version of DisplayLink (Version 7.0). It seems like that it was installed correctly, since it appears in the system's software list as well as the DisplayLinkManager.exe in the services list.

However, when I plug in the Device in the USB-port, the system is automatically installing a different version of DisplayLink again. At the end, I get several error messages saying that Asus Life Update is not working anymore as well as the Desktop Window Manager. I can hardly use the computer at this state because windows are selected and deselected continuously. When I restart the computer, the system crashes when booting. I have to do a system restore in order to get my computer running again.

I would be glad If someone can help me out here...
