Default application menus displayed strangely (or not at all) with DisplayLink

DisplayLink Device: Toshiba dynadock U3.0 (PA3927U-1PRP)
DisplayLink Drivers: 7.3 M1
OS: Windows 8 Professional 64-bit

This issue occurs when DisplayLink software is installed and a monitor is in use via DisplayLink.

Repro case:
1. Use a laptop with an active built-in monitor.
2. Connect a monitor to the laptop directly via HDMI.
3. Connect a monitor to the laptop via a USB DisplayLink device (such as via the Toshiba Dynadock U3's HDMI connector).
4. Verify that all monitors are working as expected.
5. Shut down the built-in laptop monitor.
6. Use an application like Steinberg Cubase or Sublime Text (free download at http://www.sublimetext.com). On either the HDMI-driven monitor or the DisplayLink-driven monitor, try to use the menus of the application.
7. You will see that (a) the menu tries to either display on the monitor opposite the application monitor, or does not display at all, and (b) if displayed on the opposing monitor, secondary menu options (nested) do not work.

This does not occur if all monitors are connected directly via HDMI. It only occurs when DisplayLink is involved.

I am not sure of how to determine which applications are affected by this issue (perhaps they all use a similar window drawing mechanism), but many of my installed applications have this problem.

Any thoughts on this? Continues to be an issue with 7.4M0 drivers.

After upgrading DisplayLink drivers to version 7.5 M1, the menu display issue no longer persists.
