Windows update messed up Display Link drivers?

Hi,

FWIW, I ran into a problem and how I worked around it...

I'm using a Surface Pro 2 with Windows 8.1 and right after installing an automatic update from Microsoft (around Oct 28, 2013) the display on my desktop monitor quit working it just went blank. I could see Windows still thought I had a 2nd monitor via Display Link Plugable USB 3.0 Docketing Station in Control Panel screen resolution but nothing would show up on my desktop monitor. Rebooting, power-cycling, unplugging and re-plugging cables didn't help. But, I was able fix the problem by uninstalling and reinstalling the Display Link drivers so I'm happy its working again.
