Default Windows 8.1 Vs The Kensington Office Dock

I have several brand new Surface Pro 2 tablet PC's and several brand new Kensington Office Docks (K33951, M01065).

First step was to fully install all the MS updates on the tablets.
Second step was to install the Displaylink_7.4_M2 application

Upon loading for the first time the machine recognises the docking station. Once the machine is restarted however it switches off docking station when attached by USB. There are no errors in Device Manager; the USB Adapter Office Dock is allegedly working as intended, but the docking station is powered down. As soon as I disconnect the device from the tablets it powers back up.

I have not performed any upgrades and have had the same issue on two Surface Pro 2 machines. Any ideas?
