Default MS Surface Pro 1, Win 10 Pro, Toshiba Dynadock

Hi all, I have the following;
Microsoft Surface Pro 1st gen running Windows 10 Pro
Toshiba Dynadock PA3927A-1PRP with two monitors (DVI - working, HDMI -> DisplayPort - not working)
I've uninstalled, cleaned and reinstalled the latest Displaylink software (7.9) and the second monitor is not being detected

I'm using an HDMI to DisplayPort cable, which has already been replaced once, but the connected monitor is not being detected

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Hi,

Can you check you have the latest Windows Updates installed? On Windows 10, the graphics drivers are being pushed out through Windows Update so it's worth checking.

It sounds like you have already done this but just to be sure please follow these installation troubleshooting steps.

If you still are stumped please check if the affected monitor works OK when connected directly to the PC

Lastly please attach the output of this tool when you reply

Thanks,
James

Thanks very much James

Ok, Windows updates are all up to date and installation troubleshooting steps have been followed

Yes the monitor was working fine before I purchased the Dynadock

Please find support tool output zip file attached

Hi,

Yes the logs confirm that your second monitor is not detected.

I suspect the cable type is the problem here.

From the Dynadock's HDMI output you can drive a monitor via its HDMI port or its DVI port. You can't drive a monitor via its DP port from the Dynadock's HDMI output.

Thanks,
James

Thanks very much James, appreciate your time, I guess I'll have to replace my DisplayPort monitor with an HDMI one!
