Angry I have been fighting with this for a long time

I have been fighting with the problems noted above, off and on, since I purchased my Dell D3000, Mg: ACP075US, sn 1301003742 dock with my Dell XPS L421X in March 2013. I had a pretty good, problem free, run during the summer but now it's back with a vengeance. My second monitor will not display via the USB 3.0 D3000 dock. Argh. Help!

PS: Got my second monitor working using steps noted above but only after several attempts. Bizarre. Problem solved.... until tomorrow?
