Default Can't get latest drivers working - 2nd monitor is scrambled

On a Windows 7 system with EVGA DisplayLink devices, I am having problems with new DisplayLink driver software (7.0M2).

I was originally using driver version 5.3. With this driver, I could operate an EVGA UV19 DisplayLink device (PID 0x0372) in mirror mode to drive a second display. See attached photo. The UV16 (PID 0x17E9) worked OK too.

After upgrading to 7.0M2, the second display is always corrupted. Also, Windows often crashes (blue screen) when connecting a DVI cable to the DisplayLink device (but never when connecting a VGA cable). It never had this problem with 5.3. See attached photos.

I formatted the hard drive and reinstalled windows, then repeated the above test (install 5.3, test, then upgrade to 7.0M2, test again) and still had the same problems on 7.0M2.

I also tried another DisplayLink device (EVGA UV39, PID 0x4300) with the same results on 7.0M2 (this device is too new to run on the 5.3 drivers, which is the whole reason I started the upgrade to 7.0M2).

Then I formatted the hard drive and reinstalled windows a second time, installing only DisplayLink 7.0M2 (not putting on 5.3 first, no other software on the PC at all). And it still does not work. Weird display on the 2nd monitor if connected over VGA, and blue screen crash if connected over DVI.

What's the secret to getting 7.0M2 to work? It seems unlikely that it is a problem my computer or UV19 device because both of them worked fine with 5.3.

Thanks in advance for any help that you may be able to offer!
