Hi,
I have an old laptop running Win XP, and I hope to connect it to an external monitor. So I bought a USB-A to HDMI adapter and installed the legacy driver suitable for Win XP. Once I connect my laptop to an external monitor via the adapter and a HDMI cable, they fail to detect each other. After numerous attempts, I still could not get them working. So I would love to know the issue causing this failure. Thank you. Specification: Laptop : Lenovo R61i System : Windows XP Pro Ver 2002 SP3 Port : USB 2.0 USB-HDMI Adapter : Wavlink WL-UG3501H Rev. A Monitor : Dell LCD Monitor U2414Hb Driver : DisplayLink USB Graphics Software for Windows Ver 6.2.37544.0 Both the adapter and the hdmi cable work perfectly fine when I set up my other laptop running Win 7, via a USB port 2.0, connected to the Dell monitor.
